My mom just moved to Boise. It’s a bit out of the way, and I’m not sure how many years she has left on the planet, but I suspect I’ll be back in and out of here a few more times in the coming months/years.
As far as first impressions go, I’m not too sure – except to say that when changing your itinerary goes askew at LAX or SFO, you have options. Lots of options. So when they announced at the Boise departure gate that Denver was down to one runway and that all arrivals and departures were being delayed, I thought I’d take a per-emptive strike and call the Premier 1K desk and reroute while the rerouting was good. Turns out I ended up putting myself on flights that were even MORE delayed (You should have caught that skilled UA agent!) and in the last place, I ended up back on my original flights, having forfeited my complimentary upgrades on both legs.

First world problems, I know, but more than a little annoying all the same. But at least I’ll get home the same night I had intended to get home. Lesson learned? Leave an extra buffer when flying through Denver – especially if the connecting flight is to/from Boise, Idaho where the eastbound departure options are way less than plentiful.
